I learned alot about technology in the classroom this semester. I cam in to this class knowing some stuff about computers. I came in knowing how to use the basic programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. I did not expect to learn as much as I did and I did not realize how much these programs and many more could be incorporated into the classroom. I have learned many fun and creative ways to incorporate technology into the classroom and to make learning more fun for students.

At the beginning of the year learning how to be so creative and use all the new programs was difficult. It was hard coming up with different ways to use the programs in learning ways. I learned so many ways to use different programs to teach high school math lessons to my future students. I know feel more confident using a computer and feel as though I now know many ways to incoporate technolgy into my future classroom. With using technology in the classroom I feel like my studnets will want to come to class and actually be excited to learn new things and want to take part in the learning experience.

Benefits of Spreadsheets

Spreadsheets offer students many benefits for teachers. They allow teachers to engage studnets in exploring real life issues and solving problems. Spreadsheets allow teachers to:
-organize large sets of data
-calculate lots of numbers
-analyze and make decisions
-create graphs for visual learners

Spreadsheets also benefit students in many ways. Spreadsheets promote some 21st centure skills like critical thinking and information literacy. Spreadsheets also require that students:
-locate and analyze data
-analyze
-format data
-perform calculations on data
-change one variable at a time
-interpret visualizations of data

I will most likely use spreadsheets nad databases in my classroom. I will be teacher math, and math is alot of numbers. Using spreadsheets with numbers to organize seems like a very good idea. I will also use a apreadsheet to keep my students grades.

Promoting 21st Centure Skills in the Classroom

A project I would have my students do to help incorporate math into technology is a powerpoint. I would have them do a powerpoint on famous mathematicians so they could learn the people that help make up everything they are learning. I would have them add pictures of the people they are talking about. This project would require students to use many of the century skills. They would have to use critical thinking skills, communication skills with coming up with how to say what they want about the mathematicians, and of course they would have to use alot of creativity in their powerpoint. The powerpoint would have to be interesting and visually enteraining. This project would require students to use technology on the computer and use the powerpoint to create their project.

What do I know and think about intergrating technology in the classroom?

Intergrating technology in the classroom is very important because technology is improving everyday and more advances are made in it. Having the newest technology in the classroom helps students learn more and want to learn more because they get to use new gadgets and it makes learning funner. Technology makes ;earning not as boring and new technology makes school not as boring for kids and makes them want to come and learn.
